About The Job
The Manufacturing Excellence Head leads the site improvement journey by driving the implementation of our Opella Performance Systems journey, supported by the help of relevant tools. Thus, he/she is responsible for the overall site development with regards to core KPIs to strengthen our site´s competitiveness in the network.

Clearly articulate the primary purpose and objectives of the role. Focus on the impact and contributions the role will make within Opella.

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for creation and implementation of the Opella Performance Systems (OPS) roadmap for Cologne site in collaboration with global functions and Site Leadership Team.
  • Lead the local Manufacturing Excellence team including functional leadership and people responsibility (incl. assessment, motivation, training & development).
  • Lead the definition of relevant KPIs and site targets to meet long-term business objectives including yearly support in the budget process.
  • Analysis and optimization of site processes while considering suppliers / customer needs to improve business results and site productivity. Reporting of improvement projects.
  • Develop and implement training and deployment concepts for OPS for the site population including methods for Continuous Improvement (Autonomous Maintenance, PM, TPM, Lean, 5S, GPS, …)
  • Create improvement ideas concerning both processes and equipments and lead improvement projects including profitability assessments.
  • Analysis and creation of production standards including internal and external benchmarking to identify improvement potential.

About You

  • Experience: Several years of industrial experience in the area of “Manufacturing Excellence / Continuous Improvement / Lean / IWS / TPM”, ideally in FMCG or pharma. People leadership and/or project leadership experience. Focus on the relevant skills and achievements rather than the number of years. This approach values the quality and content of the experience over its duration.
  • Skills: Demonstrated team player & ability to drive results via cross-functional teams. Analytical skills regarding industrial site processes to effectively capture improvement potential and eliminate losses. Zero loss and hands-on mindset. Coaching capabilities. Knowledge of relevant TPM methods. Include both soft skills and technical skills essential for the role.
  • Education: Completed technical studies (e.g. (industrial) engineering) or business studies.
  • Languages: Fluent written and spoken German and English.
