Base pay range

CA$180,000.00/yr – CA$250,000.00/yr

Project Director – Mount Nansen Remediation Project
Canada – Full-Time Permanent
Mount Nansen Remediation LP (MNRLP) is a joint venture between Ensero Solutions and JDS Energy & Mining, formed to lead the cleanup and reclamation of the abandoned Mount Nansen Mine Site. In partnership with the Little Salmon Carmacks First Nation and the Government of Canada, MNRLP brings together Ensero’s proven expertise in environmental assessment, permitting, and remediation, with JDS’s strength in engineering, construction, and field operations. This collaborative approach ensures a highly capable and experienced team dedicated to the successful delivery of the Mount Nansen Remediation Project.
About The Role
Reporting to the Mount Nansen Remediation Limited Partnership (MNRLP) Board, this role will be responsible for the oversight, direction and execution of the Mount Nansen Remediation Project and is responsible for the overall delivery and performance (scope, schedule, cost and community engagement) of the project.
Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and oversight of the Mount Nansen Remediation Project and is responsible for the overall delivery and performance (scope, schedule, cost, risk mitigation, and community engagement) of the project
  • Provide overall strategic and operational leadership for the Mount Nansen Remediation Project from planning through execution and completion
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with the Government of Canada and the Mount Nansen Remediation Limited Partnership (MNRLP) Board, ensuring transparent, consistent communication and reporting
  • Foster and maintain strong working relationships with Little Salmon Carmacks First Nation and Champagne and Aishihik First Nations, ensuring the project is aligned with community expectations and values
  • Establish and communicate project timelines and key milestones, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and set deadlines
  • Define the project organizational structure with clear roles and responsibilities to ensure seamless coordination, while fostering balanced, productive teams through leadership, guidance, and a collaborative spirit aligned with the Mount Nansen project goals
  • Oversee a multidisciplinary project team and interface with engineering, regulatory, construction, operations, and field staff to drive project milestones and closure outcomes
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, health and safety performance, risk management, and cost control throughout all phases of the project
  • Ensure project risks are managed within the MNRLP project execution plan and strategy.
  • Provide technical input to projects within your area(s) of expertise
  • All other related duties as required

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or construction
  • 20+ years of relevant experience in environmental remediation, mine closure, infrastructure, or related large-scale program direction
  • Demonstrated experience leading and being responsible for executing large-capital projects with budgets exceeding $100M
  • Proven track record delivering complex multi-stakeholder projects on time and on budget
  • Exceptional communication skills and experience working with Indigenous governments and communities
  • Experience in partnership governance and board-level reporting
  • Knowledge of northern Canadian environmental and regulatory context is a strong asset
