Description:

The Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering at the University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time tenure stream position in Sustainable Energy. The appointment will be at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, starting July 1, 2026. The successful candidate will be appointed to one or more Departments within the Faculty, depending on their specialization.

The candidate, upon accepting the offer, will be nominated for the Lawson Chair in Sustainable Energy for a five-year renewable term. The chair focuses on advancing expertise in sustainable energy, working with the Lawson Climate Institute (LCI) to identify research opportunities, set priorities, and develop practical solutions for energy transition.

Requirements include a PhD in a related energy field, a strong record of research and teaching excellence, and a focus on solutions-driven research that can transform energy systems. The candidate should demonstrate international reputation through publications, conference presentations, awards, and impactful research contributions, including policy and industry influence.

The role involves collaboration with LCI scholars, fostering academia-industry-government links, and expanding research capacity in sustainable energy. The candidate should have a history of securing funding, leading innovative research, and maintaining high-impact publications.
