Position Summary
The Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI) is inviting a high-calibre executive leader to serve as the Chief Executive Officer of GCRI Canada , with a clear and ambitious mandate: orchestrate the formation and deployment of a $100 million capital commitment in year one to launch Canada’s national node of sovereign-grade infrastructure for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) , Disaster Risk Finance (DRF) , and Disaster Risk Intelligence (DRI) .
This is a founding-level appointment for a visionary leader with a track record in institutional capital, sovereign finance, or systemic innovation. The selected candidate will lead the activation of Canada’s GCRI node—advancing mission-aligned R&D across the nation’s most critical systems: water, energy, food, health, and public infrastructure .

GCRI is a global scientific institution operating in over 120 countries. It holds Special Consultative Status with the United Nations ECOSOC and is an active member of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UNSDSN) , Santiago Network , and the civil society mechanisms of the World
