The Mood & Anxiety Ambulatory Service is seeking a full-time, permanent Registered Nurse (RN) to join the team providing assessment and treatment to clients with mood and anxiety disorders and related diagnoses. Reporting to the Clinical Manager, you will collaborate with an interprofessional team, Access CAMH, and other CAMH services.

Responsibilities include triaging referrals with psychiatrists and the clinical team, coordinating complex cases, facilitating group programming, providing clinical support including medication and injection administration, supporting service navigation, and ensuring thorough documentation of nursing interventions and care plans.

Key competencies include behavioural observation, mental status assessment, crisis intervention, and risk management planning. You will liaise with inpatient units and external providers to coordinate referrals and manage client care. Clinical experience in mental health or addiction settings, particularly with mood, anxiety, and concurrent disorders, is essential. Familiarity with current treatment protocols and the recovery model is required. Strong knowledge of emergency psychiatry, crisis intervention, and complex case coordination is essential. Preference will be given to candidates experienced in working with diverse population s.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of psychiatric-mental health nursing standards, regulatory standards, and the CAMH Model of Care. You will be expected to contribute to program development, research and educational activities of the service.

You will support a healthy workplace that values diversity, fosters respectful teamwork, and meets all regulatory requirements.

Additional responsibilities include contributing to best practices and supporting ongoing program development. This role will offer opportunities to engage in new initiatives, including the delivery of care in a new Bipolar Disorder Clinic and other clinics as needed. Opportunities to participate in research and educational activities may also be available, depending on program needs and individual interests. Flexibility in work hours is required, including availability for daytime, evening, or weekend shifts. Services will be delivered both on-site at the Queen Street location and through virtual care.

  • Must be a member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • A baccalaureate degree in nursing and current CPR (BCLS-HP) certification are required.
  • Certification in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing through the Canadian Nurses Association is preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with bipolar disorder, and interest in contributing to programming for this population, is considered an asset.
  • Substantial experience working in an interdisciplinary clinical environment.
  • Experience in psychiatric risk assessment and management is considered an asset.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven organizational abilities and the capacity to work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience supervising students or teaching health professionals is considered an asset.
  • Experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds is essential.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language is an asset.

This full-time, permanent position ispart of the ONA Bargaining Unit.
