Vice Principal
Hours: 35 hours per week
Start Date: End of August 2025
Term: Permanent full-time position based on approved Budgets and funding.
Wage: Equivalent to SD 58 Vice Principal Pay Scale
Summary:
We are seeking a passionate K-7 Vice Principal for the Lower Nicola Band School beginning August 2025.
The combined assignment will be 50% Classroom Teacher and 50% Vice-Principal

Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Must have master’s degree in education discipline
- Must have Successful Leadership Experience at School or District Level Bachelor of Education degree .
- BC teacher certification.
- Teaching experience is required
- Passionate about teaching and being in service of students and the community.
- Strong curriculum development skills and assessment practices that incorporate strategies relevant to the age and stage assessment practices.
- A relational educator who incorporates Social-Emotional Learning and emotional coaching strategies in their practice.
- Knowledge of relevant technology and able to incorporate technology into their daily practice.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Using a lens of social-emotional learning, create a class environment and rapport that inspires and supports learning and personal growth.
- Motivate students to develop learning skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a solid foundation for further education in accordance with each student ability.
- Establish positive relationships with parents, faculty and other staff members.
- Develop course outlines, unit plans, lesson plans ensuring integration of nłeʔkepmxc culture (the successful candidate will be supported heavily with this).
- Communicate information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress including formally through report cards and parent-teacher meetings.
- Keep up to date with developments in subject area and approaches to teaching and learning through professional reading, participating in workshops and other professional development opportunities.
- Assume responsibility for and participate in co-curricular activities and supervision duties.
