The Role
As General Manager of The Adventure Group (TAG), you’ll play a key leadership role in shaping a workplace culture grounded in Gibbons Whistler values and a growth mindset. Reporting directly to the Director of Experience, you’ll oversee all aspects of TAG’s operations—leading a team of 150+ adventure professionals, ensuring the delivery of world-class guest experiences, and driving business performance through strong strategic planning, financial oversight, and risk management.
You will be the steward of TAG’s culture, creating an environment where team happiness, guest satisfaction, and community connection thrive. Your leadership will be instrumental in achieving operational excellence while making the journey meaningful and enjoyable for everyone involved.
Responsibilities And Deliverables
Culture & Leadership
- Foster a positive, inclusive team culture aligned with Gibbons values.
- Lead by example, promoting accountability, collaboration, and a strong sense of purpose.
- Support team development through coaching, feedback, and ongoing performance management.
Strategic & Operational Oversight
- Lead long-term planning and day-to-day operations across all areas of the business.
- Oversee TAG’s infrastructure, facilities, and fleet, ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Manage operational risk, including safety protocols, incident response, and liability mitigation.
Financial Management
- Develop and manage annual budgets, monitor financial performance, and address variances.
- Ensure operational decisions are informed by accurate data and long-term financial goals.
Guest & Community Experience
- Uphold the highest standards of guest service, safety, and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and partners to deliver seamless experiences.
- Act as a brand ambassador for TAG and Gibbons Whistler within the broader community.
Communication & Engagement
- Clearly communicate expectations, plans, and priorities across the organization.
- Promote transparency and openness to feedback at all levels of the team.
- Keep all stakeholders informed and engaged with key initiatives and progress.
Salary And Team Perks
- $80,000 – $120,000 annual salary based on experience and qualifications.
