The GO Expansion scope includes fleet upgrades, train control systems, network electrification, signalling, telecommunications, and digital systems.
Objective
In close collaboration with the System Deployment & Integration Manager (SDIM) and Project Manager, you will drive the Product Acceptance Processes and coordinate deployment of engineering tools:
- Writing scope of work
- Defining product acceptance plan and processes
- Requirement analysis and allocation (for all contractual requirements related to signalling products) up to global system acceptance by customer (including test & commissioning and certification/homologation)
- Ensuring the successful completion of customer acceptance of products utilized for the project.
Responsibilities
- Manage the technical scope of customer product acceptance (in support of the SDIM and PM):
- Be accountable for performance and customer acceptance of the project solution
- Create and execute product acceptance plans, considering timelines and available resources
- Manage technical risks and mitigation plans
- Coordinate with the Project Manager on contractual scope changes, raising variation orders as needed
- Identify applicable standards and regulations, ensuring they are incorporated into acceptance and certification documents
- Ensure all product acceptance cases are accepted by the customer within required timelines
- Lead the engineering efforts to develop required product acceptance cases:
- Accountable for work packages QCDP, ensuring safety principles are applied
- Ensure product documentation is approved by the customer, supporting subsystem managers and engineering leaders
- Manage interfaces between subsystems and with external third parties for acceptance inputs
- Oversee testing, certification activities, and safety case delivery and assessment
- Coordinate activities for project provisional and final acceptance
Performance measurements
- Work package QCDP (quality, cost, delivery, performance), including on-time delivery
- Completion and freeze of project product documentation approval with the customer
- Timely delivery of product acceptance case to customer
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related scientific subjects
- P. Eng certification or in progress
Experience Requirements
- Engineering background in railway product acceptance processes related to standards such as CENELEC and AREMA
- At least 5 years of experience working on signalling projects in a technical role
- Hands-on experience in team management
- Experience managing technical subcontractors
- Cost and planning control experience within engineering scope
- Experience with interlocking design, signalling equipment room/bungalow design, cable containment, signal structures, electrical and power supply/distribution
- Customer relationship management in contractual situations
- Knowledge of rail and rail signalling products and services
- Safety background
- Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, leadership
