Base pay range
CA$64.33/hr – CA$79.56/hr

POSITION SUMMARY
A Neuropsychologist is required to offer neuropsychological services to children and youth presenting with acute and complex medical-surgical conditions. Referrals come from a variety of medical services including neurology, rheumatology, cardiology, oncology/hematology, paediatrics, and others. Services to be provided include comprehensive neuropsychological assessment, diagnosis, consultation, and short-term intervention. The Psychologist will be a member of an interdisciplinary team devoted to providing specialized mental health services for children and youth presenting with medical and surgical conditions. This individual will also provide ongoing consultation to team members, professionals within the hospital, families, and community providers.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Provide comprehensive neuropsychological assessment in French and English to both inpatients and outpatients with acute and complex medical-surgical conditions.
- Provide consultation and short-term intervention to children/youth seen for neuropsychological assessment.
- Liaise with other health professionals within the hospital with regard to neuropsychological assessment findings and recommendations, and their implications for the management of the child/youth.
- Provide supervision/training to pre-doctoral psychology residents and practicum students.
- Provide supervision to psychometrists assisting in the provision of neuropsychological services.
- Participate in program evaluation and other research activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Doctoral degree in Psychology with a focus in clinical neuropsychology from a CPA or APA accredited clinical psychology program (Essential)
- Registration as a Psychologist in Ontario with a designated practice area in clinical neuropsychology with children and adolescents (Consideration will also be given to those under supervised practice for registration (Essential)
- Experience in a paediatric health-care setting (Essential)
- Demonstrated experience with the administration and interpretation of comprehensive neuropsychological assessments in a paediatric population (Essential)
- Demonstrated knowledge about neurocognitive risk factors associated with various complex medical/surgical conditions (Essential)
- Ability to work with an interdisciplinary team (Essential)
- Bilingual – Fluency in both French and English (Essential)
- Supervision Experience (Preferred)
