About this job:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Bilingual Pricing Actuary to join our Life & Health Reinsurance team. The successful candidate is fluent in English and French, will play a critical role in leading quotation opportunities, research and development, and building relationships with clients to support our life reinsurance business in Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage reinsurance quote opportunities in accordance with internal guidelines and client deadlines.
- Responsible for developing key pricing assumptions for quote opportunities.
- Lead the development of AXIS pricing models.
- Develop and maintain standards of best practice within the pricing team.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
- Prepare and present detailed reports and recommendations to senior management.
- Attend client meetings and build industry relationships, especially with French-speaking clients.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of reinsurance treaties and recommend adjustments as needed.
Qualifications
Technical Skills / Competencies:
- Fluent in both English and French (verbal and written).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Proficient in Moody’s AXIS and Microsoft Excel.
Behavioural Competencies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative mindset with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science or related discipline.
Professional Qualifications Or Designations
- Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA) or equivalent designation such as FSA.
