Role Responsibilities :
- Perform pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical tasks in the designated area.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment with proper training and competency assessments.
- Document all tasks and results accurately.
- Identify equipment failure, troubleshoot, and take corrective actions; report and document incidents.
- Assist with inventory control and manage supplies appropriately.
- Develop and implement protocols for laboratory equipment, methodologies, and measurement devices.
- Collaborate on testing validation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of technology.
- Perform cutting frozen sections and operate automated staining equipment as applicable.
- Review and update SOPs as needed.
- Monitor standards for technical efficiency, quality assurance, and compliance with regulations.
- Participate in the quality management system, including policy and procedure development.
- Audit reports and follow up on non-conformances to ensure standards are met.
- Engage in continuous quality improvement activities.
- Coordinate with staff and assist in onboarding new employees.

Qualifications :
- CMLTO Registration as a General Medical Laboratory Technologist required.
- An undergraduate degree in Science or a related field preferred.
- Three (3) years of relevant, progressively responsible experience preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of laboratory techniques, principles, and instrumentation.
- Two (2) years of frozen section experience preferred.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, especially in emergencies.
- Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and ensure prompt patient care.
- Understanding of and commitment to safety programs and practices.
- Good attendance and work record.
