As a leader in the field, Community Living Toronto offers supports to over 6,000 individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families, including residential and day supports, employment assistance, community support, early childhood services, and respite care.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Social Services; preference for graduates of a Behavioural Science Technology degree or diploma program.
- At least one year of experience using Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) to support individuals with complex needs in a residential environment.
- Successful completion of internal legislated and mandated training, including Safe Management Group (SMG).
- Driver’s license is an asset.
Job Summary:
Supporting individuals in daily living activities as part of an inter-professional team, including an ABA lead and Behavioural Services Consultant, to implement behavioural intervention/support plans with an emphasis on community integration.
Responsibilities:
- Develop written programs in collaboration with the ABA lead to aid in life skills acquisition.
- Identify program needs, participate in developing and implementing life plans, and monitor personal outcomes.
- Provide case management, personal and physical care, medication administration, crisis response, advocacy, and liaise with families and professionals.
- Offer emotional support individually or in groups, referring to professionals when necessary.
- Maintain documentation, monitor finances, and ensure a standard of living.
- Provide direction to part-time staff as needed.
- Provide feedback to the ABA lead on program implementation.
