Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and driven Leasing Manager to oversee and grow leasing activities for our diverse commercial real estate portfolio, with a strong focus on retail plazas and commercial leasing . Based out of our North York head office , this role requires frequent travel (approximately 20–30%) to properties across the GTA and Barrie.
The Leasing Manager will play a critical role in maintaining strong occupancy levels by leading tenant outreach, negotiating lease renewals, and driving new leasing opportunities. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with proven commercial real estate leasing experience to make a significant impact within a dynamic and growing organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive leasing initiatives for a portfolio of retail plazas, industrial, and office properties .
- Lead and support tenant prospecting, outreach, and negotiations , ensuring successful lease-up strategies.
- Manage renewals and extensions, preparing and negotiating offers, term sheets, and leases in a timely and professional manner.
- Market vacant spaces by coordinating tours/showings, preparing marketing materials, updating listings, and working with brokers.
- Conduct regular site visits across the portfolio to engage with tenants, brokers, and contractors, ensuring properties remain market-ready.
- Partner with internal teams (property management, accounting, operations) to align on landlord’s work, budgets, reporting, and lease administration.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform rent pricing and leasing strategies.
- Maintain strong tenant relations and communication on all leasing matters.
- Prepare regular leasing reports and updates for senior management.
- Other duties as required to support the leasing and operations function.
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of proven experience in commercial real estate leasing , ideally with a strong background in retail plazas .
- Bachelor’s degree in real estate, business, finance, or related field (preferred).
- Solid understanding of commercial lease terms, documents, and negotiation practices .
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; confident negotiator.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with Yardi is an asset.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle (travel approx. 20–30%).
