As a Proposal Manager, you will lead or support various business development tasks, from strategic proposals to smaller qualification statements. Our transportation pursuits encompass planning, design, engineering, construction management, land development, environmental permitting, and collaborative delivery models.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Your daily activities will vary, supporting Jacobs’ sales success. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the End Game coordination and proposal preparation, working with technical staff and supporting large strategic opportunities under senior sales guidance.
  • Planning and developing presentations and interviews.
  • Writing, editing, researching, and ensuring compliance for non-technical proposal sections independently.
  • Participating in kick-off and milestone meetings.
  • Engaging in opportunity planning and developing knowledge of water markets and potential teaming partners.
  • Applying business objectives and sales strategies, especially related to proposals.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert on Sales Operations procedures, policies, and branding guidelines.
  • Using and updating business development tools and databases.
  • Building strong relationships across teams and networks.

Additional Expectations

Proposal Managers should demonstrate leadership, sales strategy, and industry knowledge, including:

  • Coordinating support staff and managing proposal schedules.
  • Solving issues independently and communicating effectively.
  • Leading business development assignments and supporting strategic efforts.
  • Participating in debriefs and improving proposal processes.
  • Enhancing company branding.
  • Communicating effectively, managing proposal timelines, and ensuring quality and compliance.

Minimum Qualifications

BS/BA degree or equivalent, with at least six years of relevant proposal management experience in the AEC industry, especially in transportation. Knowledge of company objectives, branding, risk evaluation, and adherence to health, safety, and ethical policies are essential.
