Applications are invited for the Full-Time position of Support Services Manager at our long-term care facility in Guildwood Villa LTC. Reporting to the Administrator, the Support Services Manager oversees Housekeeping, Laundry, Maintenance, and Food Service operations to ensure resident needs are met and services are delivered effectively and efficiently within legislative and budgetary constraints.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and provide high-quality support and food services for residents, families, and visitors.
- Apply continuous quality improvement principles to workflow, performance, and service changes, including dietary requirements to meet legislative standards.
- Select, supervise, and motivate support staff, ensuring teamwork and optimal use of staff capabilities.
- Ensure all food preparation, storage, housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance areas meet Public Health requirements.
- Maintain records according to policies, procedures, and legislative requirements, including menus.
- Liaise with residents, families, government officials, and professionals regarding resident care and departmental activities.
- Participate in budgeting; manage departmental budgets and food costs.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education; management certification preferred.
- Experience in dietary management, food services, support services, and long-term care preferred.
- Proficient computer skills, including menu planning and order systems.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
- Experience managing unionized employees.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety practices and legislation.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- People-Centered Care approach, emphasizing communication and care for seniors.
Additional Details
Full-time position based in Guildwood, Ontario, with a salary range of CA$80,000 to CA$90,000. Extendicare values diversity and accommodates recruitment needs upon request.
