One focus area of the Amazon Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) mission is to provide tools, resources, and environments that support safe, efficient, healthy behaviors and encourage employees to proactively manage their health and wellbeing. To support this focus area, Amazon is seeking a full-time WHS Specialist to serve as a designated representative for their assigned building.

The WHSS promotes a positive culture while complying with Amazon standards and maintaining a safe work environment . This includes conducting trainings and coaching associates on observed work habits, and coordinating all areas of the Amazon Global WHS Program.
About the role: WHS Specialist
You will maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics to report to onsite management and corporate reporting systems. You’ll support management’s efforts to ensure compliance with all corporate program expectations and applicable federal & provincial laws.
The WHSS conducts risk assessments (Job Hazard Analyses) for jobs and new equipment, and recommends risk mitigation measures—including ergonomics. You must be available for flexible shifts including days, nights, and weekends.

Requirements / Skills
- 1+ years of workplace health & safety related field experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience using Microsoft Word professionally
- Knowledge of Canadian OHS Provincial Laws
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in security or personnel matters
- Experience in emergency response and worker’s compensation management (preferred)
