Position Summary
The Senior Accounting Manager plays a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing accounting operations, maintaining financial reporting compliance, and managing the internal accounting team. This individual ensures the accuracy of the general ledger, leads financial audits, and supports strategic financial initiatives across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance and monthly/annual close
- Prepare and analyze GAAP-compliant financial statements and reports
- Lead annual financial audits and manage relationships with external auditors
- Maintain and improve internal control systems to ensure compliance and operational efficiency
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff to foster professional growth and accountability
- Manage tax compliance and support preparation of tax filings and related documentation
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures
- Lead ad hoc financial analysis and participate in strategic projects
- Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and reporting to leadership
- Support reporting for board, stakeholders, or investors as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred
- Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience
- Big 4 public accounting experience strongly preferred
- Experience managing accounting teams and leading financial audits
- In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or similar)
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
