We are looking for a talented developer to join us as an Expert Level Designer within our Toronto team. In this role, you will partner closely with our teams at other studio locations in the United States and Australia to create epic content for some of the biggest games in the world. Your Mission
Your mission is to develop, implement, and tune player-first experiences enjoyed by millions of gamers worldwide. You are a self-sufficient teammate who takes ownership of tasks, proactively solves challenges, and delivers high-quality work on time. You thrive in challenging, ambiguous environments, with an agile and flexible mindset. Excellent and persuasive communication skills are essential. We seek an innovative and dedicated teammate to help tell our story.
- Collaborate with Creative Directors, Designers, Engineers, Artists, Producers, and Animators to deliver a world-class player experience.
- Research subject matter related to design objectives to ensure authenticity.
- Be a proactive self-starter capable of independently implementing high-level directions.
- Effectively pitch designs and features using multimedia tools.
- Work in Radiant to create engaging and immersive play-spaces.
- Mentor fellow Designers.
- Play builds of in-progress games and provide concise, prioritized feedback to internal teams and external partners.
- Coordinate with other teams to understand level requirements and plans.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of the game design process across all facets.
- Collaborate with user-testing teams during play-balancing to provide expert feedback.
Minimum Requirements
- 8+ years in the games industry in level design, with at least 3 shipped AAA titles on console/PC.
- Passionate, egoless attitude welcoming feedback, and enjoyment of collaborative, iterative, and agile processes.
- Strong understanding of geometry, flow, and layout.
- Ability to lead by example.
- Impressive communication skills.
- Solid understanding of modern level design trends.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Broad gaming experience, especially online.
- Willingness to relocate to Toronto.
Extra Points
- Deep understanding of the Call of Duty franchise and Warzone.
- Knowledge of the F2P games space.
- Experience with games-as-a-service products.
- Proficiency with visual software (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).
