The opportunity
dcbel is seeking to hire a Senior Mechanical-Thermal Design Engineer to join our expanding team. We are looking for a candidate with experience and knowledge in thermal mitigation techniques for consumer electronic products.
Main responsibilities
- Utilize SolidWorks Flow Simulation software to design electronic cooling strategies for consumer products.
- Design, analyze, prototype, and validate cooling system components such as passive/active heatsinks, heat spreaders, and cooling fans.
- Coordinate with component suppliers for prototype creation, tooling design, and manufacturing logistics.
- Create component drawings, assembly drawings, bills of materials, and change orders.
- Manage CAD data via PLM/PDM systems.
- Collaborate with Product Design, Electronics, Manufacturing, and Testing teams.
- Ensure products meet quality and safety standards required for UL certification.
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience as a mechanical-thermal design engineer.
- Expertise in thermal simulation, analysis, and testing.
- Proficiency in prototyping solutions and high-volume manufacturing methods.
- High proficiency in SolidWorks CAD modeling.
- Expertise in thermal simulation software, preferably SolidWorks Flow.
- Expertise in heatsink design and manufacturing techniques.
- Expertise in materials selection for cooling applications.
- Experience designing consumer products for high-volume manufacturing.
- Understanding of UL and NEC requirements.
- Experience designing high-power products.
Bonus skills
- Bilingual in English and French.
