The Position:
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer at the Jr. MTS to MTS/Engineer level in Cable Harness Design for our Robotics & Space Operations team at our Brampton office.
The successful candidate will support the Electrical Engineering Department in various tasks, working on programs such as Logistics & Sustaining Engineering (L&SE), Gateway External Robotics System (GERS), planetary/lunar rovers, and R&D activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Candidates should demonstrate knowledge or experience in:
- Preparing cable harness designs (wiring schematics) for space and terrestrial systems
- Understanding cable design analysis (Signal Integrity, Voltage Drop, cross-talk, Cable Bundling, bend radius, EMC)
- Developing system-level Power, Grounding, and Bonding architectures
- Designing cables for environmental testing (TVAC, thermal, EMC, vibration)
- Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 and NASA-STD-8739.4 standards
- Understanding FMEA, SEE Criticality Analysis, Radiation Effects Mitigation, Charging
- Developing production, assembly, and parts list drawings
- Designing cable mechanisms for rotary interfaces
- Performing cable routing and 3D modelling
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical
- Understanding client requirements and providing technical support to manufacturing and assembly teams
Assets:
- Knowledge of geometrical tolerancing and drawing standards
- Experience with Siemens NX, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, MS Visio
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering, Physics/Applied Mathematics, or Engineering Science (Technologist diploma candidates may also apply)
- 4+ years of professional experience
- Strong communication skills
- Result-oriented with critical thinking skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and meet specific requirements
- High integrity and team collaboration skills
