Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Strategic Development, the General Manager will be responsible for the development, execution, and success of initiatives at Skip. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with a core ‘city squad’ of SMEs across all departments. As the lead, the GM will set objectives, guide from ideation to execution, and champion the squad to drive tests from incubation to scale to achieve results.
The ideal candidate is curious, entrepreneurial, loves data analysis, and makes quick, critical decisions in a cross-functional environment. They view failure as a learning opportunity, test hypotheses rapidly, and have a growth mindset and a winning attitude.
What’s On Your Plate
- Develop and own the strategic vision for your region/city.
- Execute strategies with solutions that are specific, granular, scalable, and repeatable. Embrace continuous improvement.
- Track and analyze KPIs and SLAs, measure initiative success, and identify improvements.
- Ensure optimal city supply, monitor competitors, manage pipelines, and prevent high-risk churn.
- Target local marketing to residents’ needs and preferences.
- Ensure timely and accurate customer service.
- Run tests, scale insights, and navigate multiple paths to build a competitive business.
Recipe For Success
- 8-10+ years of experience, including P&L ownership and team leadership.
- Experience developing and executing strategic programs from ideation to implementation.
- Strategic, critical thinker with broad perspective and complex issue integration.
- Relationship-first approach with strong relationship-building skills.
- Experience in a matrixed, cross-functional organization.
- Exceptional communication skills, able to simplify complex ideas for decision-making and alignment.
