Project Description:
“Air Quality Suite Evergreening” – The goal of this initiative is to upgrade Ontario’s Mission Critical Air Quality I&IT solutions’ full technical stack. The current suite uses Oracle database, APEX/ORDS, and Red Hat Linux OS, all at end-of-life support. Upgrading these components, migrating to cloud, and ensuring security and compliance are key objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and document current solution architecture (‘as is’) and lead the upgrade of software components to supported versions, including planning cloud migration strategies.
- Design hosting technology solutions aligned with standards, policies, and best practices to meet client requirements and project goals.
Skills:
- Knowledge of networking, mainframe, enterprise storage, and PC technologies.
- Experience with cloud migration (Azure), security, and government IT standards.
- Ability to lead solution design, technical documentation, and stakeholder communication.
Evergreening and Cloud Migration Experience (50%):
- Assess legacy solutions, develop cloud-ready designs, and execute migration strategies using Microsoft Azure.
Communication and Leadership Skills (25%):
- Create client-facing assets, develop cloud strategies, and participate in business development.
Desirable Skills (25%):
- Strategic thinking, automation, security, project management, and analytical skills.
Must Haves:
- Experience with cloud architecture, migration strategies, and stakeholder presentations.
