Job Summary
We are building our SRE team to provide expertise and tooling for managing the health, security, and availability of applications in production. You will collaborate with other teams to guide the entire lifecycle of building, deploying, and operating applications.
What Will You Do?
- Monitor the production environment and ensure system health and availability.
- Develop tools for managing platform infrastructure and applications.
- Debug issues across services and support production operations.
- Drive the creation of tools for application health monitoring and alerting.
- Enhance reliability, quality, and delivery speed of software solutions.
- Analyze metrics for performance tuning and fault diagnosis.
- Partner with development teams to improve services through testing and deployment processes.
- Participate in system design, capacity planning, and platform management.
- Automate processes to create sustainable systems and services.
- Balance development speed with reliability, adhering to service level objectives.
Technical Leadership
- Provide SRE thought leadership within the team.
- Review code and non-functional aspects of production solutions.
- Promote automation and continuous improvement.
- Lead community knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Manage application assets and documentation.
- Publish technical designs and implementation plans.
- Explore new technologies for innovation.
Production Support + Development
- Support production environments, including off-hours support.
- Assist with incident and problem management.
- Review and improve operational processes.
- Maintain system currency through updates and automation.
- Ensure application availability and compliance with SLAs.
What Do You Need To Succeed?
Must have:
- 5-10 years support experience with Openshift, Azure, Kubernetes.
- 5-7 years supporting multiple applications as an SRE.
- Strong programming skills in Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Object-Oriented design skills.
- Desirable: UCD, PCF, GitHub experience.
- Understanding of networking concepts like certificates and load balancers.
- Monitoring experience with Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, etc.
- Experience with microservices, cloud (Azure preferred), and container tech.
- Nice-to-have: experience with multi-cloud/hybrid environments, Docker, Kubernetes.
