Join to apply for the z/OS Sr. DB2 System Engineer role at J&M Group .
Leverage your solid technology expertise to implement & configure mainframe OEM software products at supported levels. You may participate in business case analysis exercises to determine business impact & costs associated with product migrations in our z/OS mainframe environment.
You will help ensure software is maintained at supported levels to avoid End of Support costs. Experience in implementing & configuring z/OS DB2 software and related products such as DB2 Connect, QMF, etc., is required. Configure and maintain DB2 security with RACF, implement rule-based access controls, and develop automation scripts (REXX, CLIST, JCL) for administration tasks.
Experience in applying SMP/E maintenance (PTFs, APARS, HIPER fixes), performing periodic DB2 version upgrades, diagnosing and resolving DB2 abends (SQL codes & system failures), and familiarity with DB2 utilities (LOAD, REORG, RUNSTATS, COPY) and mainframe storage (VSAM, ICF Catalogs, SMS) is necessary.
