The Software Verification Team is seeking a DevOps and Cybersecurity Team Lead to oversee the development and deployment of Kardium’s flagship software. This role is crucial in ensuring our software development lifecycle is efficient, reliable, and secure, especially within our regulated medical device environment. Your expertise will connect development and operations, focusing on building and maintaining essential tools for our engineering teams and safeguarding our CI infrastructure from cyber threats.
This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, based in Burnaby, BC.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing, implementing, and managing our Windows-based Continuous Integration (CI) system and supporting infrastructure.
- Maintaining CI system documentation.
- Collaborating with CI users to optimize workflows and provide training and support.
- Supporting software development, automated testing, and release processes.
- Working with IT to manage and secure our computers and network.
- Supporting security patches for build and test infrastructure and workstations.
- Leading security testing efforts, including vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, and coordinating with external labs for cybersecurity verification.
- Participating in design and requirement reviews to ensure compliance with standards and regulations (e.g., IEC 62443, FDA, ISO/IEC 27001, NIST).
- Staying updated on cybersecurity regulations, standards, and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Providing mentorship to team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering.
- Proficiency in Java or Kotlin, and Python.
- Experience designing, implementing, and managing CI/CD pipelines within Windows environments using tools like TeamCity, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or similar.
- Knowledge of medical device cybersecurity regulations and standards (FDA, IEC 62443, ISO 14971, etc.).
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Adaptability and willingness to take on additional responsibilities.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary range: $120,000 – $148,000 CAD annually, including base salary and 5% RRSP contribution. As a permanent employee, you will participate in Kardium’s stock option plan.
