About this opportunity
Location: Toronto, Canada
At Gleeds we are looking for someone who will oversee Gleeds Canada’s and North Americas infrastructure business, providing strategic leadership, commercial oversight, and business development while managing profit and loss, leading a high-performing team, and delivering technical expertise in cost management and project controls.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Delivers technical roles in relevant clients. (generally, fee earning is expected to be 50%+ but this will vary commission to commission)
- Manages North America / Canada infrastructure team.
- Provides thought leadership and marketing / proposal support to Americas / Global bids.
- Leadership and management of business unit(s) or sub-business unit (i.e. part of a v large business unit) with profitable turnover more than £2.5m. (currently Gleeds Canada)
- Provides support and strong, quality leadership skills recognised internally and externally with the drive to continue to grow and develop within Gleeds.
- Accountable for profit and loss, expenditure, and balance sheet of Gleeds Canada including reporting to headquarters.
- Responsible for Business Development for Gleeds Canada / USA infrastructure
- Provides strategic commercial oversight across all projects of Gleeds Canada
- Coordinates activities of Gleeds Canada
- Approves annual leave and expenses for all staff in Gleeds Canada
- Technically experienced across Cost Management and Project Controls
Who we’re looking for:
Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills
- 10+ years’ experience delivering a diverse portfolio of public and private sector projects and programmes, including both vertical and linear infrastructure.
- Strong international background with proven success in leading complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives across different regions.
- Skilled in cost management and project controls, with expertise in budgeting, forecasting, risk management, financial reporting, and commercial oversight.
- Experienced in managing and developing high-performing teams of 10+ professionals, ensuring delivery of high-quality outcomes aligned with client and organizational objectives.
Qualifications
- Relevant Degree qualified.
- Membership of relevant professional body (RICS, CIOB, APM or similar)
