Description
We are looking for a Senior R&D Data Scientist to join our Data Science R&D team at Triton Digital. We use data engineering, analysis, data science methods, and machine learning algorithms to develop innovative solutions for advertising and audience measurement platforms for podcast and radio. We analyze vast amounts of data to understand listeners’ interests and behaviors to improve audience measurement and ad targeting.
As a Senior R&D Data Scientist, you will report to the Director of Data Science and collaborate with the Data Science team and other departments at Triton Digital, including big data developers, POs, and PMs, to develop and implement data-driven solutions. Your expertise will support you from early experimentation to deploying full-scale data science products in a production environment within an Agile framework.

Qualifications
- BSc or MSc in computer science or a STEM field with relevant coursework in statistical analysis or advanced data analysis disciplines.
- At least 5 years of professional experience using Python, PySpark, or Scala, with a minimum of 3 years as a primary contributor in developing, validating, and deploying data-driven solutions using advanced aggregation, statistical methods, and ML algorithms.
- Proven ability to interpret results, communicate findings, and conduct result-oriented R&D data science work.
- Experience in exploratory data analysis to understand input data, investigate issues, and develop solutions.
- Ability to work under pressure, learn continuously, and adapt project directions as needed.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a creative approach to early-stage project uncertainties.
- Capability to work independently and collaboratively within teams and cross-functional groups.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team and cross-functional partners to define project stages and select approaches.
- Form hypotheses and plan experiments for each project phase.
- Test and compare different methods and algorithms during experimentation.
- Write high-quality, reviewable PySpark code for data processing pipelines.
- Develop explainable methodologies suitable for business problems, avoiding black-box models when possible.
- Perform comprehensive data analyses at project start to assess data quality and applicability.
- Create and validate variables for machine learning models or rule-based logic.
- Continuously analyze results to validate, debug, and improve models and solutions.
- Make quick decisions to iteratively refine analysis based on findings.
- Prepare dashboards and presentations to communicate progress and results to stakeholders.
- Maintain focus on solving the primary problem, managing multiple data challenges.
- Document methodologies and results in systems like Confluence and Jira.
