Our client is looking to recruit an experienced civil engineer, ideally with experience managing an extensive asset register, to join their team as a Civil Asset Manager. You will work in an autonomous role bridging project and engineering teams. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of asset lifecycle management and be responsible for driving TotEx investment plans (up to 5 years). They manage a wide range of civil assets across the business, some over 100 years old, and the ability to prioritize projects and maintenance works is vital .
Responsibilities
- Accountable for ensuring all policies, legal requirements, and best practices are developed (in a practical and deliverable manner at port level) and fully implemented across the region.
- Responsible for arranging and managing Civil Asset Inspections, ensuring adherence to compliance regimes.
- Responsible for inspection report evaluation, defects risk assessments, and intervention prioritization.
- Accountable for arranging and managing Civil Asset Assessments when required.
- Accountable for developing and implementing asset risk mitigation plans.
- Responsible for creating technical/performance engineering standards and liaising with procurement.
- Lead and champion initiatives, ensuring consistent application across the region.
- Ensure alignment with the centre of excellence and senior management colleagues across the business.
- Mentor and coach regional teams in Asset Management practices where appropriate.
Skills & Experience
- Essential: Significant experience in an asset-intensive industry with civil infrastructure expertise.
- Knowledge of external legislation and internal policies.
- Proven track record in strategic planning.
- Strategic, innovative, highly commercial, and analytical mindset.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relational skills.
- Strong drive for continuous improvement.
- Knowledge and experience of ISO 55000.
- Experience with portfolio asset management.
- Experience working with asset management modules in ERP systems (preferably SAP).
Desirable: Chartered Civil Engineer or similar qualification.
