Job Summary
The Lead Marketing Strategist designs and directs integrated marketing
campaigns to advance UFV’s strategic goals and foster community engagement.
They oversee design and content requests, ensuring alignment with institutional
priorities while guiding fellow Strategists through quality review, task delegation,
and skill development. Additionally, they establish systems for strategic planning,
goal setting, and performance measurement to optimize marketing efforts.
Serving as the project manager for major student recruitment and community
engagement initiatives, the Lead Marketing Strategist collaborates with a team of
Strategists and creative professionals to shape campaign strategies and explore
new opportunities. They work closely with stakeholders to maintain brand
consistency, ensuring UFV’s marketing objectives are effectively met while
identifying areas for innovation and growth.
Beyond campaign execution, the Lead Marketing Strategist advises and
influences stakeholders on marketing concepts, advertising strategies, and
promotional techniques. Partnering with the web and design teams, they deliver
creative solutions, expert project management, and strategic planning to bring
UFV’s vision to life.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, business, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Five (5) years of related experience leading marketing initiatives in a complex environment.
- Project or Change Management certifications are an asset
- Expert knowledge of social media best practices and content management tools
- Expert knowledge of Email Marketing best practices and tools.
- Extensive knowledge of marketing concepts and best practices.
- Excellent project management skills with the proven ability to plan, lead, and coordinate projects on time and budget.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to balance several projects in a fastpaced environment.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills, strong business acumen and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of brand management best practices within large, complex organizations.
- Working knowledge of various digital advertising channels, including, but not limited to, Google Ads, Bing Ads, Meta Business Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, YouTube, Spotify, Snapchat, TikTok, etc. Advertising platform certifications are an asset.
- Experienced and proficient at using Wrike or an alternative project management tool.
- Working knowledge of MS Office (SharePoint, Teams, etc.) and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Knowledge of post-secondary education is preferred.
