Our firm is led by a small team of driven engineerswho are passionate about new technology, specializing in extractive metallurgy, electrochemical systems, membrane systems, techno-economic modeling, and pilot plant design/execution.
About the Role:
We’re seeking a versatile senior mechanical engineer to establish Lydium’s mechanical engineering practice. This foundational role supports chemical process technology development from prototype concepts to pilot plant construction, with potential to build and lead a team as our custom equipment design capabilities expand.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Blank-page design and stamping for mechanical safety of equipment in first of a kind applications, including: pressure vessels, piping, heat exchangers per applicable codes
- Lead mechanical engineering of pilot plants: equipment specification, layout development, mechanical supports
- Develop conceptual 3D renderings for pilot, demo, and commercial scale plants as well asequipment drawings, module design, pipe routing, and fabrication specifications
- Oversee custom equipment fabrication from design through commissioning
- Act as project manager and/or project engineer for various projects with direct contact with clients of different backgrounds.
- Foundational role setting and managing Lydium’s engineering management structure
- Advise and assist the Techno-economic analysis (TEA) team on an as-needed basis on studies involving custom mechanical equipment and manufacturing-type processes
- Support business development and shape mechanical engineering service offerings
