Wood is recruiting for a Senior Process Lead Engineer to join its Canada Projects business. This opportunity is hybrid, and can be based in Calgary or Edmonton, AB.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design of a gas processing plant through all project engineering stages. We are seeking experienced engineers with the drive and commitment to make a genuine difference to our performance across the full life cycle of projects, including study phase, DBM, FEED and Detailed Design. Applicants with strong technical and communication skills, and technical safety experience in the listed areas, are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities
- Provide strong technical knowledge and leadership to design, execute, and validate all process engineering deliverables and tasks
- Provide strong technical problem solving skills
- Develop and validate process simulations and heat and material balances
- Provide SME guidance for process equipment and line sizing, relief valve sizing, and optimize the process control strategy to support PFD and P&ID development
- Coordinate clearly and efficiently with other engineering disciplines
- Interface clearly with Clients
- Review and validate vendor information in detail
- Execute conceptual studies through to detail engineering stages within proposed timeline and budget
- Coordinate/supervise a team of process engineers offering support and guidance to junior and intermediate engineers, and to global workshare teams
- Perform checking of all process engineering deliverables in accordance with industry codes, standards and guidelines, and client specifications
- Participate in PHA reviews to ensure compliance with safety and operational requirements
- Conduct regular reporting, scheduling, resource planning and coordination with workshare offices
- Keep updated on technical skills and on new technologies in industry

Expected
Extensive experience in the design of gas plants, including amine units, molecular sieve gas dehydration & regeneration, refrigeration units, turboexpanders, cold box exchangers, NGL fractionation (demethanizers, deethanizers, depropanizers, debutanizers), reciprocating compressors, sales gas compressors, acid gas injection, and sulphur recovery
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience with the majority spent working in gas processing and design, with proven experience leading major gas processing design projects
- Proficient in HYSYS
- Familiar with other process engineering software such as HTRI or Aspen EDR
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution
- Currently registered or eligible for registration with APEGA (registration with EGBC and APEGS is considered an asset)
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English
- Able to prioritize workload to meet deadlines across multiple projects
- Ability to coordinate with global workshare offices
