A market leader in the HVAC industry is looking for a Sales Representative for the Ottawa region. Reporting to the Sales Manager, the position will combine technical knowledge with B2B sales skills and will be part of the sales team.
Responsibilities :
- Serve as a key point of contact for clients, providing pre- and post-sales advice.
- Assist Sales, Engineering, and Customer Service departments with technical support.
- Collaborate with team members and technical experts to design custom products.
- Develop and maintain long-term client relationships by understanding their requirements.
- Follow the company’s design methodology to hand off solutions to the Install and Project Management Office (PMO).
- Engage vendor partners for complex solutions when appropriate.
- Ensure successful follow-up and completion of tasks.
- Manage the client engagement cycle, communications, and expectations from design to implementation.
- Promote professional customer relations to enhance the company’s reputation.
- Support pre-sales activities by converting customer requirements into detailed specifications, quotations, and orders.
- Maintain project opportunities and ensure delivery meets customer needs and timelines.
- Create and update lists of new sales contacts from website inquiries and bid requests.
- Qualify and develop new prospects across Canada and the US.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers.
- Conduct market research to suggest new products.
- Coordinate with other departments to prevent issues and provide solutions to customers.
- Manage requests received via the website, directing them to the appropriate sales team member or Customer Service.
- Adhere to the company’s Code of Business Conduct & Ethics.
Requirements :
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Industrial Design.
- 3-5 years of engineering/technical sales experience.
- Experience in the building materials industry.
- Technical sales experience in design/manufacturing environments.
