POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Engagement and Partnership, the Job Developerworks closely with clients to provide services such as job search support, job matching,placement, and retention strategies. The role also includes organizing job fairs,workshops, and employer events while maintaining regular contact with clients andmonitoring their employment outcomes for up to 12 months.
The Job Developer is required to perform their duties in a manner consistent with DixonHall’s Mission, Vision, and Values and to contribute to a safe and supportive environmentfor all participants and staff in the department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Development

  • Intake and oversee a caseload of job ready clients, providing ongoing support andcoaching throughout their career development and employment journey
  • Conduct common assessment tools and develop new workshops and training basedon those assessments and various program requirements
  • Develop service plans tailored to each client’s needs, helping them progress throughthe required stages of the plan
  • Perform efficiently to meet Key Performance Indicators established by managementin alignment with Service System Managers’ (SSM) IES framework
  • Administer and negotiate Employer Related Financial Support (ERFS) withemployers, maintain proper records, and monitor compliance
  • Identify and coordinate specialized Employment Services—such as job searchsupport, job matching, placement, incentives, or job/training retention—by workingclosely with the client to determine the most suitable options
  • Follow up with clients once employed to monitor job retention for 12 months afteremployment, providing ongoing support to ensure successful employment outcomes
  • Monitor and provide hands on support to clients for employment retention to ensuresustainable employment
  • Support by presenting information about Dixon Hall Employment Services toemployers, community agencies, networks and other stakeholders.
  • Lead group sessions and workshops on employability skills, critical thinking,workplace resilience, and career development
  • Mapping and updating department’s employer database and business network.
  • Remain current with knowledge of labour market.
  • Organize events and meetings for employers to develop the organization’srelationships and sustain the employer base
  • Effectively recruit relevant employers and positions that match clients’ skills,capabilities, interests, and experience
  • Work collaboratively with members of the team to organize job and career fairs
  • Actively participate in meetings and events as relevant

Organizational Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with the Centre services delivery team, manager and other DixonHall staff and volunteers
  • Actively participate in department and agency meetings and events
  • Meet regularly with manager to discuss individual, team and employment serviceseffectiveness

Administration and Reporting

  • Adhere to agency and program policies and procedures
  • Backfill tasks in the Dixon Hall Employment Services Centre as needed
  • Obtain, report, and maintain data of key statistics including customer service data,workshop evaluations, etc
  • Provide monthly updates on client testimonials to highlight service impact
  • Required to meet program and funding quotas
  • Actively participate in department and agency meetings and events
  • Collect documentation for evidence-based reporting on retention outcomes
  • Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary education in marketing or business administration.
  • Relevant post-secondary education may be exempted by the employer if theapplicant has three to four (3 – 4) years’ experience working with adult education inthe private, government, non-governmental, or non-profit sectors designing anddelivering trainings in various subjects that include but are not limited to human rights, development, employment, etc.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of labour market conditions and systemic barriers toemployment and experience delivering workshops and trainings focused on secondcareer development and employment essentials.
  • Experience working with unemployed, underemployed, homeless and marginallyhoused individuals, and knowledge of the challenges facing individuals withsignificant barriers to entering the labour market.
  • Computer literacy utilizing MS Office applications with proficiency in wordprocessing, spreadsheet, database, presentation software and search engineapplications.
  • Strong interpersonal, employment coaching, negotiation, mediation, interviewing andpresentation skills.
  • Sound knowledge of adult assessment, training techniques, sales presentations, andclosing techniques, customer matching and marketing techniques.
  • Contacts in the business and labour communities an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written English language communication skills; fluency inadditional languages, relevant to the communities of service, will be considered anasset.
  • Must be qualified to work in Canada legally for the employer
  • Able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Screening check with a ‘Clear’ or satisfactoryresult that meets the operational requirements of the Agency
