About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Logistics Coordinator (Ocean Logistics Operator) to join our team in North York. This is an in-office position where you will manage ocean, air, and drayage shipments for both import and export operations. You will coordinate with carriers, track shipments to final delivery, oversee customs clearance, and ensure all documentation and compliance requirements are met—all while delivering outstanding client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage ocean/air/drayage shipments for import and export, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Arrange and plan shipment delivery/pick-up with transportation companies; track and trace shipments until final delivery.
  • Verify accuracy of all freight documentation and booking details before execution.
  • Prepare import/export documents, including House Bill of Lading (HBL), Master Bill of Lading (MBL), and Air Waybills (AWB).
  • Communicate with global offices/agents to ensure proper documentation and compliance.
  • Work with customs brokers for customs release and compliance with Canadian and international regulations.
  • Provide freight quotes to customers and negotiate competitive rates with carriers.
  • Audit supplier invoices, reconcile payments, and ensure accurate billing of shipments.
  • Build and maintain strong client and carrier relationships, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and support training and mentoring within the team.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 5–6 years of Canadian logistics experience (must-have).
  • Proven expertise in ocean, air, and drayage shipment management.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong negotiation ability and relationship management.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin) is preferred.
  • University degree in Global Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field is preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
