As an Enterprise 5G Consulting RF Engineering Specialist, you’ll support pre-sales by delivering RF designs and RF design subject matter expertise primarily for indoor cellular RF design, but also occasionally for outdoor Enterprise Private Cellular networks and Neutral Host solutions. You’ll work within the Enterprise 5G Americas Sales Engineering team, collaborating with sales, partners, and internal teams to drive Private Networks and Neutral Host business growth.
What Will You Do
- Provide RF designs including heatmaps for propagation, interference, etc., and RF design support for enterprise cellular networks (Private networks and Neutral Host networks). It’ll be predominantly indoor design using iBwave.
- Provide directions to offshore RF design engineers to create appropriate RF designs for different enterprise venues (e.g., manufacturing site, warehouse, port, airport, mine), use cases, devices, and Site Survey reports. Review and approve designs from offshore RF design team.
- Create high-level and detailed RF design guidelines for indoor RF designs across different enterprise verticals and use cases.
- Collaborate with customers and partners to develop tailored RF designs.
- Drive improvements in enterprise RF engineering practices.
- Contribute to technical content (presentations, white papers, blogs).
- Support sourcing to identify approved third-party site materials to guide partners.
Experience
The Skills You Bring
- MANDATORY: Long-term proven experience in creating complex indoor RF designs using iBwave.
- Familiar with indoor RF design for Ericsson’s RAN portfolio and architecture.
- Proven indoor RF Designer/Engineer across pre- and post-sales phases.
- Experience with cellular/private networks.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Organized with a track record of recording and driving actions to closure.
- Experience collaborating across functions with product, sourcing, and supply chain teams.
- Skilled in leading virtual teams.
- Experience in service delivery, integration, rollout, and partner ecosystems is a plus.
Key Competencies
- Proficiency in iBWave and other RF design tools for indoor/outdoor networks.
- Solid understanding of RF design fundamentals, propagation, and RF calculations.
- Expertise in Ericsson DOT, Micro, and Macro RAN solutions.
- Strong knowledge of 4G/5G standards and 3GPP RAN features.
- Experience with site surveys and complex indoor radio environments.
- Knowledge of North American bands (including CBRS), Canada NCL, and LATAM familiarity is a plus.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Agile, innovative, and results-driven mindset.
- Excellent collaboration and time management skills.
Nice to Have
- DAS design, deployment, and optimization experience.
- Background in network rollout, tuning, and competitive RF insights.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of indoor cellular RF design experience using iBwave.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Strong customer-facing experience in advisory and consulting roles.
