We are seeking an experienced RN with exceptional clinical, leadership and communication skills for a full-time, permanent Team Lead role. Reporting to the Manager of the Medical Withdrawal Service, you will work collaboratively with the Acute Care Program practice leadership group. The Team Lead supports the Manager to anticipate needs of this 3-floor inpatient unit and collaborates with the interprofessional team to provide effective client/patient-centered care, aligned with CAMH’s vision and strategic directions.
The Team Leads will coordinate communication, liaison, and client/patient admissions, discharges, transfers, and appointments during shifts. They will facilitate service delivery, ensure high standards of quality and safety, and manage staff assignments, breaks, and unit resources. Responsibilities also include linking new staff, coordinating education and orientation, and participating in unit meetings and care conferences. The role may include carrying a patient assignment depending on unit needs.
The successful candidate must be a member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario, hold a current B.C.L.S. (CPR), and preferably possess or be pursuing a BScN and CNA certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing. A minimum of two years of clinical experience in mental health and addictions is required, with expertise in substance use treatment, crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and recovery-oriented approaches.
Proficiency in problem-solving, decision-making, conflict resolution, communication, delegation, and team building is essential. The ability to participate in organizational change initiatives and maintain a culture of safety is critical. Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language is an asset.
