Our client is seeking a Project Manager for Health, Safety, and Social Performance Systems for a long-term contract engagement.
Start: September 2025
Duration: 10 months
Location: Toronto, ON
Work Arrangement: Hybrid, with regular onsite presence
Travel: Some travel to Northern Ontario and Quebec expected
Role:
Reporting to the Director of Health & Safety and Director of Social Performance, the Project Manager will lead two key initiatives:
- The revamp and upgrade of our Health & Safety system (Intelex ), ensuring alignment with best practices, business needs, and operational requirements. Support re-training and integration across sites.
- The evaluation and selection of a Communities, Stakeholder, and Social Performance (CSSP) software solution, including deployment support.
This role requires a blend of high-level business process expertise in health, safety, and social performance, along with strong skills in software selection and implementation. The candidate will collaborate with internal teams—Health & Safety, Social Performance, Operations, and Technology—and external vendors and consultants to deliver scalable solutions supporting ESG commitments.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing the project lifecycle for both initiatives, including scope, milestones, and success criteria.
- Managing budgets, timelines, and risks to ensure successful delivery.
- Collaborating with relevant teams to capture requirements and ensure alignment.
- Facilitating workshops and decision-making sessions.
- Leading the CSSP software evaluation and selection process, including requirements gathering, RFI/RFP, vendor demos, scoring, and recommendations.
- Applying best practices in software selection and change management.
- Managing vendor relationships, negotiations, and implementation governance.
- Ensuring compliance with regulations and standards for Health, Safety, and Sustainability.
- Tracking and reporting on project KPIs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Information Systems, or related; Master’s preferred. Certifications like PMP, CSM, Six Sigma are desirable.
- 7+ years of project management experience, preferably in mining, natural resources, or industrial sectors.
- Experience managing enterprise software selection and implementation projects.
- Strong understanding of health, safety, and sustainability processes, especially in resource industries.
- Relevant project management certifications (PMP, PRINCE2) preferred.
- Familiarity with change management frameworks (e.g., Prosci, ADKAR) is an asset.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to balance strategic and hands-on project execution.
- Experience with software deployment and staff training for adoption and sustained use.
Must have work authorization for Canada.
