We are seeking an experienced MS SQL Server DBA to join a leading Banking/Financial client in Toronto. The role involves database design, engineering, deployment, and performance optimization to support both production and non-production environments. The ideal candidate will be proactive in automation, migrations, and DevSecOps practices, ensuring databases are reliable, secure, and highly available.

Must-Haves:

Minimum 5 years of hands-on DBA experience with strong MS SQL Server expertise

Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

Experience with Database automation and DB DevSecOps (Ansible, AWS CDK, Github Actions, Liquibase, Shell scripting, Python, SQL) – at least 1 year

Strong ability to support DB change requests, upgrades, and migrations

Proven experience monitoring capacity, performance, and high-availability in enterprise environments
Nice to Have: Knowledge of Oracle, AWS RDS, or Redshift with at least 1 year of hands-on experience.
