The Capital Markets Accounting Advisory Services team (“CMAAS”) at PwC is committed to supporting clients through moments of exceptional change by providing accounting advisory services. These include advising on acquisitions and divestitures, accounting changes, ESG reporting, restructuring, capital transactions such as IPOs, and digital transformation projects. Meaningful work you’ll be part of

As an Accounting and Transaction Advisory Senior Manager, you will work with a team of problem solvers to deliver high-quality client service and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Leading teams and clients through capital market transactions (e.g., IPO readiness, prospectuses, Business Acquisition Reports, pro forma financial statements) and various accounting change projects, including GAAP conversions, policy implementations, new standards, and ESG reporting.
  • Supporting Deals teams with accounting implications of transactions such as buy-side, sell-side, valuations, business combinations, consolidations, and divestitures.
  • Leading project teams in preparing or reviewing accounting whitepapers, reports, complex calculations, financial statements, and management reports to provide insights, typically supervising Senior Associates and reporting to engagement leaders.
  • Understanding clients’ specific issues and developing tailored project plans and deliverables.
  • Coaching team members, recognizing their strengths, and encouraging ownership and development.
  • Responding flexibly and promptly to ad hoc client requests.
  • Ensuring overall quality and effective management of projects.
  • Supporting the growth of the CMAAS business through strategic thinking.
  • Upholding the firm’s ethics and business conduct standards.

Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve

  • Experience managing teams in financial accounting, reporting, deals, or public company audits.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for complex issues and project updates.
  • Qualified Canadian CPA or equivalent designation.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, and ASPE.
  • Knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks like TCFD, ISSB, and GRI is a plus.
  • Ability to build relationships and work under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort with technology and innovation.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills for challenging projects.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment, including overtime when needed.
  • Experience managing multiple engagements concurrently.
  • Open-minded, coachable, and committed to self and team development.
  • Fluency in English and French to support diverse clients and stakeholders.
