We’re currently seeking a seasoned Machine Learning Engineer who thrives at the intersection of data science, engineering, and operations. This role is ideal for someone with experience in building, deploying, and maintaining scalable ML solutions.
What You’ll Be Doing
The role involves MLOps, platform development, and model engineering. Responsibilities include designing automated workflows for ML model deployment, developing CI/CD pipelines (preferably with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions), and managing model lifecycle tasks such as versioning, monitoring, and retraining.
You will work extensively within Databricks—developing feature pipelines, optimizing workflows, and integrating ML components with SaaS systems. You’ll assist in migrating and scaling models within an environment hosting over 100 ML models, with additional models in transition.
On the application side, collaborate with data scientists to productionalize prototypes, select algorithms, build scalable ML systems using Python frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch, and evaluate performance over time.
The Ideal Candidate Brings
- 5+ years of experience in software, data, or DevOps engineering roles, with at least 3 years focused on MLOps or ML engineering.
- Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure ecosystem—Azure ML, AKS, Azure DevOps.
- Deep familiarity with Databricks (including Delta Lake, MLflow, Spark).
- Understanding of infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform), version control, and CI/CD practices.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Must be located in Canada and able to collaborate with Canadian teams.
Additional
- Certifications from Databricks or Microsoft (e.g., Azure Solution Architect).
- Experience with LLM libraries/frameworks like transformers, trl, deepspeed.
- Experience with ML model migration or SaaS ML platform integration.
- Consulting or client-facing experience emphasizing communication and stakeholder management.
