JOB SUMMARY: A strategic leader with experience managing Evidence Synthesis teams, including Systematic and Targeted Literature Reviews, capable of achieving objectives in creative and effective ways. Typically manages a department or small unit comprising multiple teams led by managers, ensuring high standards and excellence in execution and delivery. Builds effective client relationships and acts as a strategic advisor on large or strategic engagements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Handles significant and unique issues requiring in-depth evaluation of data or situations, gathering input from peers but maintaining independence in decision-making.
- Supports team management initiatives such as recruiting, training, and coaching, while being fully independent on most projects.
- Addresses complex problems requiring extensive investigation and analysis.
- Manages a department or small unit with multiple teams led by managers or team leads.
- Provides leadership at the project level for technical planning, execution, and delivery.
- Builds effective client relationships and acts as a strategic project advisor, leading client conversations, demos, and project scoping.
- Maintains target utilization rates for themselves and their teams.
- Supervises costs, methods, and staffing considerations.
- Owns operational initiatives at the team level, including standardization and process improvements, such as new tools or software implementation.
Education: Master’s degree or PhD, PharmD, or MD in Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Epidemiology, Health Economics, or other relevant scientific fields.
Experience: 8-10 years in clinical trials, health research, or consulting, with at least 2 years of professional management experience. Additional experience may be required depending on focus area.
Skills:
- Thorough understanding of the biopharmaceutical R&D process and business acumen.
- Comfortable presenting and engaging with senior executive clients, with strong technical writing, oral communication, and presentation skills in English.
- Curious, collaborative, entrepreneurial, and self-motivated, with an understanding of high-growth company dynamics.
- Ability to work effectively in demanding, rapidly changing environments.
- Strong interpersonal skills to gain respect and influence across management, clients, and personnel at all levels.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, capable of executing in complex, tactical situations.
- Experience, vision, creativity, integrity, leadership, and strategic insight to contribute positively to Cytel’s organization and direction.
