Job Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders across departments to understand contract needs; initiate contracts, review, negotiate, and liaise with legal on all types of contracts.
  • Monitor costs, schedules, and performance aspects of major contracts.
  • Facilitate fair and transparent bid processes for applicable projects.
  • While not a supervisory role, this position may involve coaching/mentoring junior members of the purchasing group and delegating tasks within the team.
  • Manage planning, development, implementation, and administration of procurement activities.
  • Coordinate activities and resolve issues related to production planning, procurement, and material management, making or recommending appropriate decisions aligned with strategic goals.
  • Implement and maintain material control systems, policies, processes, and procedures to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials meeting production requirements.
  • Serve as liaison with governmental and regulatory agencies as required.
  • Review, approve, and implement changes to controlled documents.
  • Track, analyze, and build procurement metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Identify, select, negotiate with, and manage relationships with suppliers to ensure quality and delivery standards.
  • Recommend organizational objectives and interpret company policies.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in a related field with a BS or BA degree.
  • Or 8+ years of relevant experience with an MA/MBA.
  • Experience with SAP and Oracle preferred.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions.
  • Capability to develop complex concepts, techniques, and standards.
  • Proven problem-solving skills requiring ingenuity and creativity.
  • Experience in contract management.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Strong understanding of the financial aspects of Supply Chain operations.
