Work Model & Location: Hybrid – remote with occasional onsite meetings in Ottawa.
Contract Term: 7-hour workdays, initial contract (details to be confirmed), with possible extension.

Our client seeks a Microsoft Azure Data & BI Expert with experience in Azure Synapse, dataflows, pipelines, and semantic modelling to support enterprise reporting and analytics. The role involves designing scalable data solutions, developing bilingual semantic models, and providing BI insights to enhance decision-making.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Business Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- At least 3 years of experience with Microsoft Azure technologies.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Pipelines, Dataflows, Notebooks, PySpark, Power BI .
- Experience in data manipulation, integrity checks, and building datasets for reporting and analytics.
- Knowledge of Medallion Architecture and BI concepts like semantic data modelling and star schemas.
- Proficiency with data formats (Parquet, Delta, JSON), SQL, stored procedures, REST APIs, and JIRA.
- Strong programming and analytical skills, with ability to debug and optimize ELT processes.
- Experience creating bilingual semantic models and dashboards in Power BI.
- Bilingual in French and English (spoken and written).
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with statistical tools (R, Python, SPSS, SAS, SQL Developer).
- Experience with big data/cloud integrations and API services.
- Stakeholder engagement and project management skills.
