Position Summary…
A Dairy/Frozen Department Manager coordinates the merchandise and activities of associates in a department of a Wal-Mart store through modular integrity, perpetual inventory, merchandise management, and customer service, while maintaining exemplary customer service by adhering to the Basic Beliefs and values of Wal-Mart.
What You’ll Do…
- Supervise the department team, including mentoring, training, task distribution, recognizing and supervising part-time associates, and effective communication.
- Order merchandise in a timely manner.
- Correct pricing errors (e.g., optical reading accuracy program).
- Adhere to standards and guidelines related to cold chain compliance, thermometer calibration, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, and expiration dates.
- Follow food safety and handling procedures, including cleaning and sanitation protocols.
- Implement proper procedures for markups, markdowns, price changes, signage, labels, clearance, competitor price checks.
- Address customer complaints, examine returned goods, and resolve issues to maintain good public relations.
- Manage department budgets, including shrinkage control.
Minimum Qualifications…
Age 16 or older.
