Mi’gmaq Child and Family Services of New Brunswick Inc. is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting its 6 Mi’gmaq communities through prevention programs and response services aimed at protecting, educating, and empowering vulnerable members, including children, families, and Elders. Programs include Child Protection, Special Needs Services, Intake & Investigation, Emergency Social Services, Cultural Prevention, Early Childhood, Child in Care, Kinship Services, Clinical Standards, Foster Home assessments, and Family Conferences.
Position Mandate
The CEO is responsible for developing and implementing the organization’s strategic plan, overseeing leadership, management, and protection of staff, services, programs, finances, and assets. The CEO must provide strong leadership, foster a culturally appropriate and team-based environment, and ensure programs respect Mi’gmaq culture, values, and traditions.
Responsibilities
- Secure funding through strategic planning and business development.
- Manage budgets, finances, and oversee infrastructure projects.
- Respond to socioeconomic conditions, policy reforms, and emerging issues affecting service delivery.
- Develop relationships with communities, partners, and stakeholders.
- Implement record management processes ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
- Report to and receive guidance from the Board of Directors.
