Role Description
The Climate Adaptation Solutions Director will report to the Canada Sales Director with dotted-line collaboration to the Climate Adaptation Global Solutions Director. This role requires extensive expertise in technical solutions, business acumen, and leadership skills to drive Arcadis’ Climate Adaptation strategy.
The ideal candidate will develop and deliver innovative, future-focused offerings, while inspiring and motivating teams. They will ensure alignment with Arcadis’ global strategy, foster collaboration across regions, and grow the Climate Adaptation focus in Canada by addressing market needs, driving client engagement, and securing strategic opportunities.
The successful candidate will act as a visible representative of Arcadis in the marketplace, attending industry conferences, participating in thought leadership, and leveraging digital transformation, innovation, and data analytics to create compelling value propositions. They will collaborate with technical and client teams to deliver exceptional client experiences, drive profitable growth, and expand into new markets, services, and geographies.
Role Accountabilities
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Strategic Leadership & Growth:
They will develop and execute Arcadis’ Resilience and Climate Adaptation market strategy in Canada, in collaboration with the leadership team, while leading strategic pursuits, driving campaigns, and shaping thought leadership to enhance Arcadis’ market position and securing profitable growth. They will collaborate across sectors, accounts, and regions to integrate, build and maintain relationships with high-value clients, ensuring their needs are met while achieving Arcadis’ objectives.
- Client & Market Focus:
They will understand client needs, emerging issues, regulatory drivers, and evolving market trends to develop industry-leading insights, assess the competitive landscape and create differentiated, value-added technical solution strategies. They will act as a client-facing leader during pursuits, proposals, and presentations, representing Arcadis’ expertise in Climate Adaptation.
- Team Development & Collaboration:
They will foster collaboration across Arcadis’ global presence in Climate Adaptation, exchanging innovative approaches, best practices, and insights, organize cross-regional meetings and build global capability. The successful candidate will mentor, recruit, and develop their team to achieve high performance, growth, and personal development, and provide technical leadership on large, complex projects, ensuring quality delivery and client satisfaction. Leadership skills, including team management, mentoring, and coaching is an important aspect of this role.
- Visibility & Thought Leadership:
They will represent Arcadis at industry events, conferences, and on social media, promoting people, projects, and global strategy, and be a champion for Arcadis’ position in the marketplace through publications, presentations, and participation on technical committees.
