The successful candidate will play a key role in Pomerleau’s development by supporting the VP – Strategy and Corporate Development in executing their mandate. The Strategy and Corporate Development team works closely with senior leadership and other executives to identify Pomerleau’s key strategic directions and ensure profitable growth. This team is responsible for assessing market opportunities and threats, recommending and prioritizing strategic initiatives, monitoring the execution of the company’s strategic plan, and leading mergers and acquisitions activities. Collaboration and communication with various stakeholders are essential for the success of these initiatives and to foster a collaborative work environment. The successful candidate will work closely with leaders from different business units and corporate functions to support them in identifying, evaluating, and making decisions on strategic opportunities and directions.
What You Will Do
- Identify and lead strategic opportunity analysis mandates by developing business plans and formulating recommendations to support decision-making by senior leadership.
- Develop and present effective business cases to enable informed decision-making.
- Support the execution and monitoring of strategic initiatives.
- Ensure follow-up and updates on the implementation of the corporate strategic plan by collaborating with internal teams and external consultants in collecting, analyzing, and formulating strategic initiative recommendations.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of the industry and competitive landscape.
- Identify key industry trends impacting the company and uncover related growth opportunities.
- Supervise, coach, and support the development of team members to foster engagement and talent retention.
Qualifications
- 10 to 15 years of experience, including at least one year in a strategy consulting firm or within corporate development/strategy departments.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, economics, or a related field.
- Master’s degree or MBA — an asset.
