Plan Group Inc. is seeking an experienced Director to join our Technology business unit and support our integration and IoT initiatives. The ideal candidate will excel in strategic thinking, have a proven track record in delivering customer-centric results, and possess strong collaborative communication skills. They should be comfortable in fast-paced environments, capable of multitasking, prioritizing, and leading technology-driven solutions. Strong leadership and decisive decision-making are essential.
This Director will communicate with internal and external stakeholders, develop client relationships, and support overall business unit growth. They will establish rapport with clients and promote Plan Group’s solutions.
As a Director, IoT and Smart Systems , your responsibilities will include:
Sales
- Maintain regular client communication to ensure satisfaction and provide project updates.
- Promote brand awareness through conventions, trade shows, and public relations.
- Stay informed on new or emerging trends and technologies that benefit the organization.
- Maintain accuracy in CRM to support timely client engagement.
- Collaborate with the Equans Digital Canada and Global teams.
- Coordinate efforts and support for the Business Development teams.
- Work closely with the internal Technology team to align with national strategy.
Engineering
- Design and implement new technology solutions and improve current solutions for clients.
- Oversee estimates, procurement, and vendor partnerships related to specific technologies.
- Determine integration requirements to enable interoperability.
- Participate in R&D activities and stay current with the latest technologies.
Delivery
- Lead and manage the delivery of all technology engagements in the region.
- Manage and mentor teams responsible for delivering technology solutions.
- Liaise with customers and vendors on project governance and contracts.
- Work with the Financial Controller for accurate forecasting.
- Oversee creation and delivery of documentation such as Solution Briefs, Design, Specifications, Testing & Commissioning, and As-Built documents.
- Monitor, support, and maintain IoT platforms, building systems, and integrated technologies.
Our ideal candidate has:
- A minimum of 7+ years of practical experience in the design and implementation of ICAT systems and system integration.
- A Post-Secondary Degree in Building Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- Proven deployments in Smart Buildings or Smart Hospitals, in new construction or retrofit projects.
- Understanding of IP converged networks for data exchange and system integration.
- Knowledge of cloud solutions such as Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform.
- Ability to articulate technology needs clearly, translating them into schedules, costs, and quality impacts for construction teams.
- Excellent written, communication, and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel.
