Our client, Champion Home Builders, is seeking an IT Director for Sales & Marketing. This is a full-time, strategic leadership position offering remote work flexibility with up to 20% travel (expenses reimbursed).

SUMMARY

The Director, IT Sales and Marketing will strategically lead and manage the development, implementation, and optimization of Salesforce, other key technologies, and AI solutions to drive sales effectiveness, elevate marketing initiatives, and enhance customer experience specifically within the manufacturing housing industry. This role requires a strong leader with expertise in Salesforce architecture, development, administration, as well as proficiency in other relevant technologies and AI applications within the sales and marketing domain. A deep understanding of sales and marketing processes and objectives is essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define and lead the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Salesforce and the broader sales and marketing technology stack across the enterprise.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy that aligns with sales and marketing goals, leveraging Salesforce, other relevant technologies, and AI to gain a competitive advantage and accelerate revenue growth.
  • Research and analyze market trends within the Salesforce ecosystem, other sales and marketing technology areas, and the AI landscape to inform platform adoption and innovation.
  • Oversee the design, configuration, customization, and integration of Salesforce (including Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and potentially other clouds like Service Cloud) and its supporting applications.
  • Lead and manage a team of Salesforce developers, administrators, and engineers to build front-end systems that enhance customer interactions and streamline internal processes, particularly focused on Salesforce development and administration.
  • Oversee the selection, implementation, and optimization of other sales and marketing technology platforms and tools, including marketing automation platforms, Customer Data Platforms (CDPs), analytics and reporting tools, and potentially ERP systems integration where relevant.
  • Ensure seamless integration of Salesforce with other business systems (e.g., ERP, marketing platforms, analytics tools), ensuring data flow and a unified customer experience.
  • Manage and optimize the sales and marketing technology budget effectively, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and delivering strong ROI on all technology investments.
  • Champion AI maturity across teams and influence broader product and platform direction, particularly in areas relevant to sales and marketing.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI tools and technologies to enhance sales forecasting accuracy, streamline lead qualification, personalize marketing campaigns, and optimize customer engagement.
  • Evaluate and implement AI-powered solutions, such as predictive analytics, natural language processing (NLP), and machine learning, to automate tasks, generate insights, and improve decision-making.
  • Lead the development and execution of strategies for implementing AI in sales and marketing, including data preparation, model training, and performance monitoring.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of IT professionals, providing guidance and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the Salesforce and broader technology stack.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales and Marketing teams, as well as cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., Operations, Finance, Product Development), to understand needs, identify opportunities, and ensure IT solutions support business objectives.

Data & Analytics:

  • Define and enforce data quality, governance, and stewardship standards across all sales and marketing data, ensuring clean and accurate data is captured and stored.
  • Leverage Salesforce reporting and dashboarding capabilities, as well as other data visualization and analytics tools, to deliver insights and analytics that support sales and marketing effectiveness.
  • Utilize data analysis and AI-powered tools to optimize campaign performance, identify market trends, forecast sales, and personalize customer experiences.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with cybersecurity, data privacy, and IT operational disruptions, specifically within the Salesforce platform and related integrations.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and company policies related to data security and usage within the Salesforce environment and across all sales and marketing technologies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in IT roles, with significant focus on supporting sales and marketing functions and at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of successful implementation, management, and optimization of Salesforce platform solutions (e.g., Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud).
  • Demonstrated experience with other relevant technologies such as Marketing Automation Platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo), Customer Data Platforms (CDPs), analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and potentially ERP integration.
  • Experience leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) for use cases such as sales forecasting, lead qualification, marketing personalization, and customer journey optimization.

Technical Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of Salesforce configuration, Reporting, Dashboarding, Lightning Components, APIs, Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning Web Components (LWC).
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, systems, and network security.
  • Expertise in data analytics and reporting platforms to drive data-informed decision-making.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce security models, data modeling, and multi-org environments.
  • Experience with AI/ML tools and platforms relevant to sales and marketing (e.g., Einstein GPT, predictive analytics tools, conversation intelligence platforms).

  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team, particularly those focused on Salesforce development and administration.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including presenting to executive leaders.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to identify opportunities and challenges within the Salesforce ecosystem and broader technology landscape and develop innovative solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret market data, trends, and campaign performance metrics within Salesforce and other integrated systems.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing business requirements and thrive in a fast-paced environment, staying current with Salesforce releases, other technology advancements, and AI innovations.
