Join Our Technical Services Team
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Technical Services, the Director, Metallurgy will support improvement initiatives and operational challenges across our projects and mines in Canada and Mexico.
Role Overview
The Director will provide technical support for process operations, collaborating with site teams to develop and execute processing plans aligned with company vision. Responsibilities include supporting feasibility studies, technical reports, and due diligence efforts, primarily based in Toronto with travel to mine sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Visit mine sites to evaluate risks and review management plans and process trends.
- Develop contingency plans to ensure production continuity.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives with process teams.
- Conduct trade-off studies and cost estimations for process projects.
- Ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in gold processing, including crushing, grinding, and leaching technologies. Strong communication skills with technical teams and external consultants are essential. Willingness to travel and operational expertise are highly valued.
Experience & Skills
- 15+ years in metallurgy and processing engineering, mostly in operational roles.
- Experience with carbon-in-leach, carbon-in-pulp, and heap leach operations.
- Designing and managing metallurgical test programs.
- Effective stakeholder communication skills.
- Proficiency in comminution software.
- Fluency in English; Spanish is a plus.
